Mel Kucenic is a new author and shares her beautiful memories of her father in her book “Nishka’s Golden Heart”. Her father came from Croatia in 1968 and passed away when Mel was almost 21. Their bond was one of a kind and his passing left a huge hole in her life.

Mel’s Croatian heritage has always been a big part of who she is and she has so many wonderful memories of her father. She gathered stories from family and friends to write a book about her father but the project never got published.

After many years Mel found the inspiration to write a children’s book that would reflect her father’s strengths, love of life, generosity and kindness. And so “Nishka’s Golden Heart” was born. A heartwarming story to honour her father’s legacy.

Through Nishka’s adventures Mel hopes to touch the hearts of parents and children. She plans to continue the Nishka series and share more golden heart adventures.
